Reminder: Contest

This is a reminder that the character contest is still on going. If you want to participate, here's the guidelines:

"What to do:
  • Invent a Winx Club fan character! It can be a fairy, witch, specialist, etc.
  • Come up with a name for him or her.
  • Design what he or she looks like and make a picture of him or her.
  • Include a bio if you want. Make him or her anything you want! Just be creative! [By the way, just don't make a novel! This might as well be a fanfic contest if it is.]
  • Send your character (picture included) to WinxFairies.Site@gmail.com
  • [Deadline:]Only the first 20 will be accepted!"

If you're still confuse about how to do this, you can look at the entries already submitted or here are some unrelated pieces to give you an idea: example 1, example 2 and example 3.

If you have any questions or concerns, please type it in the comments section.

  1. I drew the drawing. This is the original picture. It's not a contest entry. I just used it because I did not want to use any of the already seen entries in the weird case that someone might see it as favouritism.

  7. It takes patience and practise, just like trying to use chopsticks to eat.

  8. Were it so easy...

  9. So, we could just make a character sheet, like example 2, add more background to it, and send it in?
I'm not much of a drawer, but I'm good at making stuff up!

  10. Pink Cobra,
An original drawing is necessary for your entry to be valid. It's one of the requirements as said above in the list. Example 2 is just show what you could include in the biography.

  11. Sorry, let me rephrase that. An original picture is needed but it does not mean that you can't use generators like this one.

  17. ooooo i now that picture is from you dith you draw it?

  18. Right now, a deadline has not been set up definitively because it's Phoebe who decides everything. My best estimate is that the contest will end during the middle of the summer. From what I understand, Phoebe is moving to another city, not just to another house which will take some time.

  19. So just out of curiosity, if I were to enter does my artwork have to be like that of the winX club characters or can it be completely my own style? (for example like anime artwork) And can we enter in more than one? Like for instance if I made a witch and wanted her to have a specialist boyfriend, could he be apart of the package or an extra entry?

  20. Janine Mimi,
As far as I'm concern, you can send in any style but you have to consider that the art of the picture is taken into consideration in the judging. If the artwork as a semblance of Iginio Straffi's work, it's okay. If it's a realistic drawing or something that is so totally anime-influence that I could mistake it for a regular manga style drawing, then there's no point in entering the contest. This is a Winx Club character contest afterall. The evidence that XYZ is a Winx Club character must not only be present in the biography but the art as well.

You can only enter one character per contestant. If you happen to say that XYZ is ABC's boyfriend/girlfriend/bonded pixie/fairy pet and here's what he/she looks like, it's okay. That separate character will simply be considered an important figure in the character's life, Mike and Vanessa or Andy to Bloom. So yes, they are all in one package.

  26. @kikurukina thanks for answering! I just personally preffer drawing in my own style but you bring up a good point. I think ill try to still give it my own personal touch but also be very similar to the WinX style.

    Thanks again!

  27. @ kikurukina - do you know how many people have entered yet? please reply.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Selenz,
I've already answered your question. Look at the older comments.

    Janine Mimi,
Thank you for understanding. I have my own drawing style that is not the Winx Club-style so I understand but an artist must learn to be diversify his repertoire of skills to get the most fulfillment out of his art.

    Azka Winx Girl,
I don't have an exact number with me. I know that there are ten more or less. Don't worry about a deadline, just send in your entry if you plan on joining.

  29. i've already post mine so mine is accepted right?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Isabellalsen,
You posted it or emailed it? If you emailed, I'm sure Phoebe recieved it. Right now, she is in the midst of moving so it might take a while for her to reply. Just in case, keep digital copies of your entry on hand and ready to resubmit.

  31. Do we have to draw it, or can we use paint??:(

    ReplyDelete
  32. I emailed it.Then I will wait.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Valaria,
The picture can be any medium. Draw does not necessarily mean to be done in pencil, it means "to compose or create (a picture) in lines." There's nothing about a pencil in that definition, is there?

  34. Has anyone else even entered a character? they always seem to be the same ones has before.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why do you care? Are you going to enter the contest?

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh i am so sorry i didin't mean that they were bad! and i can't enter the contest because i dont know how to add the picture of the character to the discription.

    ReplyDelete
  37. On an email, just type in the character description and say it is for the contest. As for the picture, it must be in a commonly used format like BMP, JPEG or PNG and you can just attach the file to the email.
