Tecna, the Princess

I suppose that anyone who has gone over to look over the Winx Club profiles have noticed (or is freaking out at dear Stella Solaria) that Tecna's status is 'Princess.' I can explain this since it was I who told Stella Solaria to write this.

Tecna is a princess, pure and simple. This is revealed in the Winx Club comics, issue 25 Logic and Love, that are only published in Europe and only available to Canada in French (mainly, in Quebec I believe?). Luckily, you have this nice person here, winxcomics who scans the comics making them available for your viewing pleasure in North America. I would like to note now that the comic series came out first in Italy, and then the actually TV show. This is the equivalent of a manga coming out first and then having it made into a show (e.g. Naruto, Dragonball Z, One Piece, etc.). A more familiar example is the W.I.T.C.H. series; the comic came first and then the show.

This is her father:

This is her mother: (whom we only see in issue 30)

Here's a sample of the comic:

  1. I never could picture Tecna as a princess. Maybe she is just a princess in the comic book seris

  2. Well, her kingdom runs on the technology making technocratic monarchy in a sense. Of course, she would not be your average princess with all the etiquette and rules.

  3. I never knew she was a princess...or if that is the comic series...but i can't picture it, she just doesn't match.

And honestly, I think it's just the comic series, otherwise they would have said something like Musa how her family was disowned.

Yeah, but this (the comics) is based on the RAI continuity of the series, not the 4kids. We all know that Musa isn't a princess as far as we know in the original version. It's only the 4kids version where she is (and that backfired on them when Musa's father came to visit).

  11. I really hate to rain on your parade but Tecna is NOT a princess. I repeat, NOT a princess. The show came before the comics, not the other way around. Tecna is a commoner, pure and simple. The comics don't follow the shows plot line at all. So there!

  12. She wouldn't have a different status, though. That's crazy!

  13. Tecna is not a princess!!!!!!!!! She is a commoner! The TV show came first not the comics! Most of the stuff in the comics is totally different from the show, like this!

  16. If these comics follow the Rai events so I think Tecna is a princess in that continuity

  17. Actually Her father had a "robot" adviser... who always reminds to never add the rules etcetera etcetera

  18. Tecna may be a princess but the continuity is only contradicted a few times for example, in the first issue that states Bloom was frozen with Stella's scepter and Stella was from Domino also in that issue Bloom transformed in episode two not 3. Another contradiction was in dream keeper where The winx have to face their fears in dreams when they meet Layla, who further contradicts the continuity by saying I met you somewhere before..

    1. Musa's not a princess.
      1. Her mother was a professional singer
      2. Her father was a prince to a different realm, but he gave up his crown to be with Musa's mother.
So...you could argue that Musa's a partial princess because of her father, but he gave up his royalty to marry Musa's mom so that won't work.

AND ABOVE ALL: We actually see Princess Galatea of Melody, Musa's realm.

And therefore Musa is not a princess.

  24. I hope everyone here knows that the comics were created by Iginio Straffi, and that they are not seperate from the animated series, they were started up so that there was something for the fans in between the the seasons. Tecna did start out as the princess of Zenith, when or why that was changed I don't konw. But the comics tell the tales of other adventures the girls have during their first years at Alfea and the summervacations.
